Well first of all, what heros are you running because other wise we cant help you.
NM / HM?
Cons?
Look at using the Platoon way builds if you are taking 2 people + heros. And consumables also help
If you want to use a more balanced build then try a panic mesmer. They can considerably decrease the damage done

I am a panic mesmer, with my dervish friend. We got 2 monks, 2 SF ele with Maelstrom, 1 earth ele and 1 mm with aura of the lich. the problem is too many demons in the last few waves.

The problem isn't too many demons. The problem is the armor level of DoA foes vs fire damage. I can't remember the exact calculations offhand but
For example: 60AR - 100DMG Searing Flames will do 100DMG but it will only do somewhere in the region of 45DMG and less to pretty much everything in DoA. Flesh Tormentor's have 120 AR ish vs elemental damage so SF vs one will be incredibly weak. Your damage is barely scratching the surface even in NM.
Weaken Armor(if you insist on armor sensitive damage),Mark of pain,Spiteful Spirit,Visions of regret, channelling lightning damage and inflicting cracked armor would all be better suggestions imo.

I've cleaned Gloom as primairy mes running a bit tackled discordway build + having my rit fiancee run SoS spiritmancer, with additional defensive heroes (one prot, one heal, one wards/nukes/snares). With careful pulling, it's walk in a park. No cons. Hint: a dervish can be a spiritmancer as well.
Though it's the easy way, a panic mes and a AoHM derv might do as well.

Well you can do it two ways,
Reduce Armor - Cracked armor via Weaken Armor/Spirit Rift
Armor ignoring damage - SS-Mark of pain-Visions of regret and use unstrippable buffs on your derv - Splinter Weapon (which is capable of soooo much damage)
But I'm just brainstorming (Dropping your SF and MM)
SS Necro
VoR/Tease Mesmer hero (VoR probably won't be great with a panic human though)
Channelling Ritualist hero with mighty Splinter Weapon

MM is a good way to trigger mark of pain, VOR won't do much damage since panic is on. I guess I will drop the earth ele for a curse necro. Then drop a SF ele for a prot Rit if necessary.

No your derv friend will be able to trigger it so much better if you call the target. ^ SF is extremely weak, why drop your earth ele..

If he charge in alone he'll die very quickly. Since they got high armor and a lot of interruption, earth ele won't do much. Also lots of death nova will be good.

One can only assume you had wards on earth ele,a major major part of your defense. Uhh yeah don't charge in either, that is normally highly detrimental.

Then how about the later part? Since Greater Darknesses will spawn 5 Darknesses and each of them will spawn tormentor, how could I take on 30 mobs in a fight? Even if I kill them 1 by 1 it will be hard.
